Question by lucky_7_chic: University of Montana-Missoula or Montana State University-Bozeman?
I plan on becoming a wildlife veterinarian, so I want to take a pre-veterinary program and major in wildlife. Which school has better wildlife and pre-veterinary programs? Which school has a better reputation in the wildlife professions? How about higher rate of acceptance into vet school? I’ve been to both websites, so I know what the schools have to say, but I need outside opinion, if there are any professionals out there with exposure to graduates from these schools. Thanks.

Bozeman is the better choice for getting into a veterinarian school. MSU focuses more than UM does on educating its graduates in “science”. And, both wild life management and veterinary medicine are science related fields. The type of training you get at MSU will payoff with a high score when you take the tests required to get into a veterinarian program. Most of the programs at Missoula focus on liberal arts. IMHO, their two best programs are pharmacy and forestry.
