Why not consider picking up dog droppings as a part of your own business? You can earn upwards of $ 20 an hour, and all you need are a few tools a bicycle, and perhaps a bicycle trailer.

Because you probably won’t find a business to hire you at your age, here is some Grandmother type advice for you.
I knew a kid when I was in HS who started his own lawn care business for extra money when he was about 12 yrs old. By the time we graduated he had his own company, employed over 20 other kids and had become a millionaire.
My brothers started younger than you repairing bikes, skateboards, roller skates, etc for neighborhood kids. Once the word got out, they did quite well too.
You are going to have to think outside of the box – especially in Montana. This means becoming a little creative. Remember that the absolute BEST advertising you can get is Word of Mouth! But make sure to hang some homemade signs at grocery stores, etc, with your phone number at the bottom so people can tear it off.
Remember NOT to be greedy with what you charge. As you become more well known and well liked you can charge a little more later on. You will also find your tips growing as people get to know you.
You can offer some of the following services: Babysitting, Pet sitting/walking, Tutoring younger kids in school work, Lawn Care (cutting grass, trimming hedges, leaves raked whatever needs done). During the winter – don’t forget to offer snow shoveling!
Don’t worry about not having all the right tools right away – people will usually have them or you can borrow from a relative or a neighbor.
Older folks may need groceries, dry cleaning, whatever picked up and/or dropped off. You’ll have to do some door knocking to get your name and number out there.
Remember to ASK people WHAT you can do for them! And be polite! You will probably be very surprised at the responses you get! Stand up straight, hold your head up! You’re not going around begging! You are going into business and have a service to offer to people!
Basically, what you do depends on YOU! You are the keeper of your own fate! So give some serious thought to what you want and can offer to do. Talk to a few adults whose judgment you trust.
You will encounter some rude people. That is going to happen. But the ones who will smile and hire you will far outweigh the bad ones!
And just in case no one ever tells you this – I am proud of you! The world needs more young people like you!
GOOD LUCK!
