Question by mtgirl28: Can anyone help stop the Bison Killing in Montana?
According to the Bozeman Chronicle, the Federal government will be slaughtering 300 bison in West Yellowstone friday. This includes 80 baby calves! I know that they have been doing this for the past few years but now it’s getting out of control. I would like to contact someone but I’m not sure who and if it would do any good. Two whales were given so much media attention all week. Why are the bison so overlooked? Any ideas?

Go around and get hundreds of signatures…have a meeting at your municipal or something. Try and convince the government what they are doing is wrong.

The bison there are just like cattle. Cattle herds get to big as the bison herd does. I am sure they are doing this to cut down on the starvation before winter sets in. This is only my guess. The park has sectioned off land for the critters. Nothing like seeing a critter starving to death….

Whales do not live in a park.

Get in contact with the U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE.
(www.fws.gov) . Maybe they can explain why this is happening.

I’m sure the meat will be used for a good purpose. It’s better for you than beef so eat up.I myself would have an auction and sell them to ranches for breeding and slaughtering.
